Cardboard

The stacking of honeycomb cardboard dampens the noise level. Carton contains ingredient of chalk - a result of the recycling process. Chalk is an excellent fire-retardant material. ‘Tests have shown that simple piece of solid cardboard already meets NEN standarts.’* Some cases show that the fire resistance of cardboard is better than first thought. Under the action of fire, a layer of solid cardboard reacts in a similar way as wood might. The material forms a layer of coal and thereby protects itself. One box panel is burglar-proof like a house of wood. Cardboard packaging is often coated. The purpose of the coating is to optimize the box in its properties for the intended purpose. Sealing properties are primarily achieved by coating with plastics . Frozen packs are made of cardboard e.g. protected from moisture.
